StanleyParkVan.com - Everything you need to know about visiting Stanley Park, Vancouver, Canada!
There are two sets of tennis courts in Stanley Park: English Bay tennis courts and the Lost Lagoon tennis courts.
From April to September each year, 6 of the English Bay tennis courts are reserved for organized play and lessons. The remaining 11 courts are open to the public(see rules below).
We have all the 2023 information here.
Every July, there is a big tennis tournament, the Leigh Wheeler Stanley Park Open, that takes place in Stanley Park. This tournament has categories for all ages and all levels of play. It is arguably the premier tennis tournament in British Columbia.
The English Bay Tennis Courts are a set of 17 tennis courts. The lower 6 courts are pay courts that can be reserved. The remaining 11 courts are first-come, first-served courts available for 30 minutes at a time. Note that during tournaments all the courts will not be available for public use.
Supposedly, the English Bay Tennis Courts were built over what was a World War II ammo depot. We really hope that they removed all the ammo before building the tennis courts! If you know anything about this, please let us know.
The Lost Lagoon Tennis Courts are a set of 4 tennis courts on Lagoon Drive near Lost Lagoon. These courts are first-come, first-served courts available for 30 minutes at a time.
The Tennis BC organization runs the 6 lower English Bay tennis courts from April to September.
They offer private and group lessons, weekly group drills, reserved courts, summer camps, and organized play.
You can book these courts in 30 minute periods up to 2 hours up to 7 days ahead.
The Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament is British Columbia's premier and probably North America's largest tennis tournament!
There is new sponsor, National Bank, for the tournament in 2023. Previously, it was sponsored by Leigh Wheeler.
The 2023 National Bank Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament will take place from July 7 to July 23, 2023.
2023 is the 91th anniversary of the tournament.
This tournament is put on by Tennis BC.
In addition to the Stanley Park Open, there is the Rogers Rookie Tour Tournament and other non-sanctioned tournaments. Check out our Events Calendar for the dates of tennis tournaments.

The English Bay Tennis courts are located behind the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club near the English Bay entrance to Stanley Park. The Lost Lagoon Tennis courts are located on Lagoon Drive on the east side of Stanley Park where it meets the West End neighbourhood. They are basically at the very end of Robson Street.
There are a lot of things near the English Bay Tennis courts. There is the Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club, Vancouver Parks Board Office, Stanley Park Pitch and Putt Golf Course. The tennis courts are also near English Bay and the Stanley Park Seawall.
For the English Bay Tennis Courts: Take the Beach Avenue entrance into Stanley Park, take the first right after the Vancouver Parks Board Office. Head straight 100 metres.
For the Lost Lagoon Tennis Courts: Use the same parking lot as above.
For the English Bay tennis courts, there is a parking lot right next to them. Enter Stanley Park via Beach Avenue, take the first right after the Vancouver Parks Board Office and go straight for about 100 metres into the parking lot.
For the Lagoon Drive tennis courts, this same parking lot is still the closest. It is about a couple of minute walk to those courts.
There is also a parking lot at the Vancouver Parks Board Office, but it is reserved for parks board business during the week during work hours.
You can also try to park in the West End closer to these courts, but there is limited 2 hour paid parking only.
